NMED encourages radon testing


Radon gas detection testing in area homes and businesses is strongly urged by the New Mexico Environment Department.

Many residents in New Mexico and throughout the United States are unaware that a naturally occurring radioactive gas - which could be filtering into their homes from the soil - is considered the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S., said the NMED in a statement on Wednesday.
