RADON AND THE EMPTY HOUSE

Many homes on the market are vacant before being tested for radon and then sold. Some people may argue that vacant houses may have higher concentrations of radon. However, the EPA action level does not distinguish between radon levels in homes that have been "closed" for long periods and homes with regular occupancy. Hence, a vacant house does not have a radon "allowance" built in.
