As part of National Radon Action Month, the Department of Environment and Conservation, the American Lung Association, the Environmental Protection Agency, and various local and county health departments in Tennessee have partnered to raise awareness about the risks of radon and to encourage residents to test.
An estimated 70% of Tennessee residents live in high risk or moderate risk radon areas. Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer deaths among non-smokers. It is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States.
