Lawmakers ignore silent killer


Although there are no laws requiring remediation of high radon levels, Peggy Seithers, health educator for Wedco, and Clay Hardwick, Kentucky's radon coordinator, are working on getting legislation passed.

Kentucky has the highest rate of lung cancer. Exposure to radon can increase the risk of lung cancer and is the leading cause of lung cancer in nonsmokers.
